Malaga will do all they can to resist any interest in their Spanish U21 midfielder Sergi Derder, according to the Express.
Darder has impressed this season having broken into the Malaga first team, then cementing his place as one of the first names on manager Bernd Schuster's team sheet.
According to some reports both Manchester City and Tottenham have been impressed with the talented youngster and have made enquiries over his availability.
The Express report that Manchester City chiefs Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain are aware of Darder's ability from their time with Barcelona.
Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is also likely to be well aware of Derder's ability from his time with the Spanish club.
The paper also claim that Tottenham have been on the 19-year-old's trail for some time, and are willing to offer up to €11 million for his services.
However Malaga are said to be adamant that they will not let one of their brightest young stars leave the club so soon after breaking into the first team - despite their well-known financial problems.
Derder recently penned a new contract that ties him to Malaga until 2017, and is believed to contain a £33.5 million release clause.
The Tottenham and Man City target recently insisted he wasn't thinking of a move away from La Rosaleda any time soon.
"I am only focused on my work in Malaga," he said.
"The future? I am calm and my desire is to progress in world football."
The midfielder added of his new contract: "When I first started pre-season training, I never knew I'd have such an amazing opportunity.
"This is what I've been working for all this time. Malaga really has given me everything.
"I'm so thankful to the club for where I am today, and I'd like to remain here as long as I can. I'll always be grateful to Malaga."
