Manchester United sent scouts to watch Benfica trio Ezequiel Garay, Nicolas Gaitan and Nemanja Matic, sources in Portugal are claiming.
It's no secret that David Moyes wants to improve his current squad in the January transfer window, but it seems as though he now has a definite idea of who he wants to bring in.
According to A Bola, representatives from Old Trafford were sent to the Estadio de Luz to watch Benfica play last Saturday in order to compile a dossier on three players Moyes is specifically interested in.
Rumours have been rife for a while now that Garay could make a switch to the Premier League, and he has been tipped to join United in January.
The 26-year-old ex-Madrid star has been in impressive form for Benfica and, with the ageing Rio Ferdinand seemingly on the decline, could provide the defensive stability Moyes is so desperately craving.
Gaitan is another who has been followed by foreign clubs vying for his signature, and has once again been linked with the Red Devils in the past.
Former Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic concludes the list of targets, but is wanted by other clubs around Europe and so could be difficult for Moyes to get hold of.
