Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a £500,000 bid for 17 year-old Valmir Berisha, labelled 'the next Zlatan Ibrahimovic', according to The Daily Mirror.

The Albanian born Sweden under-17 international has impressed Spurs scouts at the U-17 World Cup in Abu Dhabi, where he scored seven goals, including a Zlatan-esque back-heel against Honduras and a hat-trick against Argentina, helping to guide his country to a third place finish.

The youngster plays for Swedish club Halmstads, with Tottenham confident they'll be able to sign him for the paltry fee of £500,000.

The north London club have struggled to find the back of the net this season, only managing to score nine goals so far in the Premier League - three of which have been penalties.

It is unlikely Berisha would be thrown straight into first team action if he was to sign for the White Hart Lane outfit.

Spurs are being linked with a move for some more senior strikers in the January transfer window as they look to provide further options to challenge faltering stars Roberto Soldado and Jermain Defoe.

However, if the comparisons to Ibrahimovic hold true and the move comes off, there promises to be exciting times ahead in the future for Spurs fans.
