Andrew Shaw has signed a new deal with the Chicago Blackhawks, reports ESPN

The Blackhawks forward, who has been in impressive form this season, will now stay on at the Franchise for another two years as the new deal will run until the 2015-16 season.

The 22-year-old was set to become a free agent once this season came to an end, however he will now have an extended stay in Chicago.

Having been drafted in by the Franchise in 2011, Shaw has continued to impress with some great statistics with 25 goals and 24 assists in just over 100 games.

And after agreeing a new deal with the Blackhawks, general manager Stan Bowman insisted he was delighted to keep the forward at the Franchise.

In his statement, Bowman said: "It's great to come to this agreement with Andrew and keep another important member of our team here in Chicago."

Bowman also revealed that he expects Shaw to continue to improve at the Franchise and has great expectations for the star.

He continued by saying: "Andrew has proven his ability to play a prominent role on our team and we look forward to watching him continue to grow as a player for the Blackhawks."
