Manchester United could be willing to pay up to €42million for the services of Real Madrid star Sami Khedira in January.

According to French newspaper Le 10 Sport the Red Devils are keen to address the frailties within their squad as soon as possible, despite having seemingly recovered from their woeful star to the season.

United now sit in 5th place in the Premier League table following their 1-0 victory over leaders Arsenal at the weekend, but David Moyes has identified a few players he wants to bring in to strengthen his side.

Chief amongst them is Real Madrid midfielder Khedira, who has been linked with the exit door at the Bernabeu in recent months.

And according to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, United would be ready to spend as much as €42million on bringing the Germany international to Old Trafford.

Rumours have been rife that Moyes' assistant, Phil Neville, was in Spain to watch the 26-year-old during Los Blancos' 7-3 win over Sevilla, and it's believed that United want a player like Khedira to sure up their midfield.
