Spare a thought for Arsenal fan Henry Dhabasani, who not only witnessed his team lose to Manchester United on Sunday, but was also forced to relinquish the keys to his house following the result.
As reported by the Ugandan newspaper the Iganga Observer, Mr Dhabasani and friend Rashid Yiga entered into a bet before the encounter, which saw the former stake his two-roomed abode on a Gunners victory, and the latter place his car and his wife on a reverse result.
The pair put their bet in writing, with this reportedly witnessed by local leaders, with both clearly supremely confident that their side would emerge triumphant from the eagerly-awaited clash.
Manchester United, of course, secured glory in the meeting at Old Trafford, with former Arsenal captain Robin van Persie heading the only goal of the game from a Wayne Rooney corner.
Victory for Manchester United ensured they closed the point deficit between them an Arsenal to five points, while the Gunners missed the opportunity to move 11 points clear of the reigning Premier League champions.
As for Mr Dhabasani, he lost the chance to claim another wife along with a Toyota Premio, and instead is now homeless with his five children and three current wives.
The Iganga Observer also reports that Mr Dhabasani fainted upon learning that Arsenal had lost the match 1-0.
