Serie A team Fiorentina have entered the race to sign Verona's Brazilian playmaker Jorginho, who was previously scouted by Arsenal and Chelsea earlier this season.

Liverpool were also tipped to put in a bid for the young star in the previous transfer window.

Now, the Tuscany outfit are keen to attract the 21-year-old's signature after his impressive start to this campaign for Verona, where he has scored five in their opening 12 fixtures.

He also impressed in the Serie B last term, helping his side secure promotion to Italy's top division. His inspired play has seen Verona adapt comfortably to life in the division above, securing sixth position after 12 games.

Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella's interest in the Brazilian may spur Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool into making a bid this January as the English clubs vying for Champions League football look to strengthen their squads.

However, with both the majority of English clubs interest already having enough quality midfielders, it's hard to imagine them pushing Fiorentina too hard for the latest product from Brazil.
