Radamel Falcao: Chelsea star is world's best

Published 1 Comments

Radamel Falcao has revealed he believes Chelsea have the best goalkeeper in the world on their hands in the form of Thibaut Courtois.

Speaking to Sport Wereld, the AS Monaco striker revealed he was still good friends with Courtois from their time together at Atletico Madrid and that he believed the young Belgian had no equal between the sticks in world football.

"He's a good friend and the best goalkeeper in the world,” said the Colombia international.

Chelsea signed the 21-year-old from Racing Genk in 2011 and immediately loaned him out to Atletico, where he has developed into one of the world's leading goalkeepers.

However, current Stamford Bridge number one Petr Cech is only 31 and is unlikely to take too kindly to being dropped for Courtois when he is still in what is arguably a goalkeeper's prime.

This has led to much speculation regarding the future of Courtois, with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid both being linked with him in the past, though Chelsea are unlikely to agree to let such a promising player leave before even having played a single game for them.

Falcao was speaking ahead of the friendly between Colombia and Belgium on Friday in Brussels, where the hot shot striker will be looking to get get one over on his old teammate.
