Premier League: Best XI so far (12)

Published 13 Comments

ST: Daniel Sturridge

Goals/shots-per-game: 8/3.5

With only one position available in attack this was always going to be a tough one to call, and so it proved to be.

Three strikers have scored eight goals this season; Sergio Aguero, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez.

That means we had to come up with a way of separating them, and it just so happened that Sturridge averaged the least shots-per-game of the three, meaning he has been a less wasteful and more accurate finisher this term.

Luis Suarez deserves a special mention for racking up his goals in the fewest games, but it is his Liverpool team-mate who deserves the lone forward's spot.

So there you have it, statistically the best team in the Premier League this season. Disagree with our selection method?
