Premier League: Best XI so far (1)

Published 13 Comments

With just under a third of the Premier League season already gone and another international break upon us, now seems as good a time as any to take a look back and see who has started the new campaign on fire and who has sunk like a stone.

However there is usually one problem with most 'Best XI's" - they are of course highly subjective.

Well GMS has come up with a novel idea to try and remove that element by putting together a team based entirely on statistics - but not just any old statistics, ones that are particularly pertinent and defining for each position.

So for example, the midfielder with the best pass rate gets in, as does the striker with the most goals. Everyone else is disregarded, whether they play for a big team or, well, Crystal Palace.

In theory we should have an XI that is full of the most proficient, effective player in each position.
