Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes believes that his teammate Lionel Messi "is God" - and the club will always depend on him.
The Argentine, who seems to be sad at his latest setback, will miss the next six weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained in the 4-1 win over Real Betis.
And whilst Valdes admits his side are likely to miss the attacker's influence during his absence, he remains confident that the 26-year-old will recover swiftly from his third injury problem of the season.
The goalkeeper told reporters: "He is God, the best there is and he always will be, for what he has given to this team and what he has made me experience as his team-mate.
"For me, Barca will always depend on him because he is the best in the world.
"To me he seems sad. By defect we players are selfish and we can't understand it when we can't play.
"Knowing him and the winner he is I have no doubt what he will now put into recovering, in fact he is already doing so."
Messi did post a message on his official Facebook account, as a medium to thank his fans for their continued support as he aims to return to top condition.
But already, he has scored 14 goals in 16 outings under Gerardo Martino this term, after firing Barca to Liga glory last season, scoring 46 times in 32 games.
However, Valdes, who is now on international duty, seem to be uncomfortable with life at the Camp Nou.
And though his Barca contract expires this season, the shot-stopper has refused to pen down another deal with the Spanish giants.
He is reportedly interested in making a move to the newly-promoted AS Monaco in the Ligue 1 world.
