An incredible incident emerged on Tuesday, as videos surfaced from the South African league of a player punching his opponent to the ground in bizarre circumstances, only not to a receive so much as a booking.

Wits striker Getaneh Kebede was the recipient of the left-jab from Morgan Gould, a South Africa international, who inexplicably decided to administer his full force on the chin of his opponent.

The Kaizer Chiefs defender was fortunate not to be sanctioned, while Kebede managed to escape serious harm, and was able to walk from the field of play.

This incident was described by a commentator calling the match as a 'knockout blow', even if Kebede was able to get to his feet. But this quip got GMS thinking about some incidents where players have been knocked out cold in the past.
