Wolfsburg's Brazilian playmaker Diego has remained modest following links with a January move back to Atletico Madrid, reports Sky Sports.
The Brazilian international has spoken in his native homeland, regarding rumours that suggest he could be leaving the Bundesliga in the New Year.
When questioned over the rumours that have suggested he could be back at the club he spent the 2011/12 season with, the Wolfsburg man told publication Lancenet: "I can't confirm this interest right now but I haven't received anything official.
"When the right time comes, I'll see what I have to do. I have a lot of affection for everything I achieved there in such a short time.
"I believe that when the moment comes, both the club and I will have to make a decision."
Diego enjoyed his previous spell in Spain which saw him score three goals in 30 appearances for the club, as well as contributing several assists in aiding the club on it's way to Europa League glory.
The imaginative midfielder was believed to have hoped to stay in Spain after falling out with then Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath, describing his time in spain as"magical".
Despite his feelings a permanent deal was scuppered due to the price tag which hung over the former Juventus starlet's head. However Spain isn't the only destination rumoured, amid reports that he could leave the Volkswagen Arena for Brazil.
Diego added: "I don't rule out returning to Brazil but my first objective is to stay in Europe. I pay attention to anyone who shows interest in me."
