For all of the NBA's strengths, nothing is quite as fantastic to watch as a truly spectacular slam dunk.
And on Tuesday night, fans of the reigning champion Miami Heat were treated to one of the best of the season as superstar LeBron James let the Milwaukee Bucks feel the full extent of his considerable wrath.
In a comfortable 118-95 win over the Bucks at American Airlines Arena that saw Erik Spoelstra's men improve to 5-3 for the season, the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player - who scored 33 in total - connected with a truly awesome alley-oop jam that is already well on its way to becoming an internet sensation.
With 32 seconds remaining in the first half and the Heat up by 12, point guard Mario Chalmers took control of a fast break after a sloppy passage of play from the Bucks' offence, before throwing up a reverse pass for the onrushing James who proceeded to slam it home with real authority.
“I was ready for whatever,” James told the South Florida Sun Sentinel after the routine victory.
"Once he threw the ball up there, I couldn't let him have a turnover, had to go get it."
Next up for the Heat - who are looking to win their third consecutive championship this season - is a testing home clash against Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks on Friday evening.
