There was only ever one player under consideration for the number one spot. Still eligible - just - this was be Neymar's final year on these kinds of top 10 youngsters lists.

But while he's still 21-years-old, he dominates his peers in the category. Few can claim to be the lynchpin of their country's quest for a World Cup trophy - and for Brazil, no less.

He plays for Barcelona, scores goals for fun for club (less so now admittedly) and country, and is one of the most skilful, and therefore entertaining, players to watch in the world.
