Boxing promoter Frank Warren could sue former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson after the retired boxer revealed in his autobiography he used drugs right up until he was due to fight.

In his book, Undisputed Truth, he also revealed he tricked drug testers by using his "whizzer" - a fake penis filled with clean urine that allowed him to pass undetected.

Warren, who promoted Tyson's fights when he fought in the UK, voiced his disgust at the boxer revealing he used cocaine and marijuana throughout his professional career, stating he would've been in serious breach of his contract if he were caught.

"I don't know whether cocaine, or whatever he was taking, is a performance-enhancing drug, but it's a banned substance.

"Boxing is a dangerous sport and to be taking something that may enhance your performance is a serious danger to your opponent.

"I haven't seen the book yet. All I've done is heard about some of the extracts. When I've seen the book, I'll make my decision," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

Tyson rose to prominence in the 1980s, becoming the youngest boxer to hold the WBA, WBC and IBF world titles. However, in 1992 he was sentenced to six-years jail time after being convicted of rape. He was released in 1995.

His impending autobiography is sure to ruffle more than a few feathers, revealing he was a "cokehead" who would use the narcotic right up until he was about to fight.

And Warren, a household name in the world of boxing after a long career promoting fights, added: "I'm pretty disgusted. When he fought here, he was tested by UK Sport, who do all of the drug testing on boxers and nothing came up to say that any drugs were in his system."

The promoter also questioned the credibility of Tyson's claim he used a fake penis: "The claim he used a prosthetic penis... I don't know whether I believe it or not, or whether it's one of those things that sells books."
