It's going to be a very tense next six months or so for England fans. The World Cup is just around the corner and preparation is key.
England have two massive games in the next few days, meeting Chile and Germany at Wembley. These two sides are by far the best level of competition the Three Lions have faced since the friendly meetings against Brazil.
Steven Gerrard will be key to everything in Brazil. Although has lost some of his ability, the captain more than makes up for it in experience.
His recent performances in the World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland were just what England wanted from their captain as sealed their place in Brazil with his crucial goal against Poland.
Coming up to the age of 34, he is no spring chicken and has recently picked up a hip injury. He'll miss the Chile game, however Gerrard has reportedly had an injection to ensure he is able to play against Germany on Tuesday.
That is such a silly move, in my opinion This is not a Sunday League game where one side only has ten men and an injured player therefore has to play - we're talking about the England captain here.
Friendlies are friendlies for a reason. With us so close to the World Cup, they exists to give players a chance to impress.
Southampton's Adam Lallana has done nothing else this season but impress. He's been influential for the Saints in the middle of the park.
However, this is only his second England call-up so I understand that Roy Hodgson may be a bit tentative in playing him.
But it makes more sense than playing an injured Gerrard. Imagine if the skipper injures himself even worse when playing Germany? Then England have a real problem.
It is just ignorance. I would give England the benefit of the doubt if this was a big game - but it's not. England have central-midfielders like Lallana and Frank Lampard who can fill Gerrard's boots.
I'd like to hear what Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers thinks about this situation.
England are risking not taking their captain to Brazil and also ruining Liverpool's title hopes.
