Manchester United readying new Rooney deal

Manchester United are ready to offer Wayne Rooney a new four-year deal worth £52 million, reports The Sun

Rooney, who is out of contract at the end of next season, has been in sensational form for David Moyes' side so far in this campaign.

The 28-year-old was given the man of the match award as United beat Premier League leaders Arsenal at Old Trafford last weekend and has been praised for his performances under Moyes.

The striker was the subject of interest from Premier League giants Chelsea in the summer, however the Red Devils kept their prize asset at Old Trafford as they snubbed bids from Jose Mourinho.

And now the Manchester United hierarchy are ready to tie the England international up at the Theatre of Dreams as they prepare to match his current £250,000-a-week wages. It's also expected the Red Devils will offer Rooney an improved incentive package to stay in Manchester.

Rooney is currently with the England national side as the Three Lions prepare to take on Chile at Wembley tonight.
