Olivier Giroud has revealed that he was angered by the tactics Manchester United employed to keep him quiet during Arsenal's loss at Old Trafford last weekend.
Sources in France are reporting that the Gunners' hit-man was left reeling after failing to get on the scoresheet in the game, and bemoaned United's style of defence.
For large periods of the match the Frenchman was ineffective, and looked a shadow of the player who has been at his most confident in front of goal so far this season.
And the striker was quoted as having expressed his frustration from the fixture, telling reporters in no uncertain terms that he felt there was foul work afoot.
"Against Manchester United, it's true, I lacked clarity. I took a lot of shots, elbows in the face. I thought it was unfair. It pissed me off, "said the former Montpellier forward.
The resulting loss in the crunch clash meant that Arsenal's lead at the top was cut to two points, with Liverpool hot on their tails in 2nd place.
Giroud will have cause to be happy with his contribution to the effort so far this season heading into the international break, but will have to be on song tonight as France take on the Ukraine in the first-leg of their World Cup qualifying play-off.
