Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini was convinced that Edin Dzeko would be his first-choice striker this season, but it hasn't quite worked out that way.

The Bosnia & Herzegovina international will still be at the 2014 World Cup finals, regardless of how little he plays over the next six months, but a move could provide a timely confidence boost ahead of the biggest tournament of his career.
