Barcelona could make an offer for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero after encouragement from superstar Lionel Messi, according to the Daily Express.
Aguero has started the season in excellent form, leading the goalscoring charts alongside Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge with eight Premier League goals.
But City may have a struggle on their hands to keep the in-form striker at the club, with Messi keen for the fellow Argentine to join him at Barcelona.
Messi is such a huge star at Barca that his desires cannot be ignored by the club's hierarchy, although City have no intention of selling their top-scorer at any price.
Aguero signed for the English club in 2011 from Atletico Madrid for a reported £38m and the forward has since gone on to score 60 goals in 101 games for City, including the famous last-gasp title winner against QPR on the last day of the 2011/12 season.
The 25-year-old is expected to form a lethal partnership with Messi at next year's World Cup in Brazil, but Manchester City will be doing everything they can to prevent the player from forming such a partnership at Barcelona as well.
The Catalan club were reportedly interested in Aguero this summer before their capture of Brazilian star Neymar, but would have to pay an astronomical fee to secure his services if they were to move for him again as Manchester City are not struggling in the financial department.
