The upcoming FIFA World Cup in Brazil will feature one of the two great stars of recent times, namely Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Zlatan Ibrahimovic of Sweden.

Both forwards were unfortunately tied in the qualifying rounds, and a difficult predicament, which will see one of them miss next year's World Cup, aroused.

Netherlands icon Johan Cruyff, although admitting it was a difficult choice, says he would prefer to see Cristiano Ronaldo qualify for the 2014 World Cup rather than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, the Barcelona legend also stressed that it's shameful to know that either the Real Madrid star or the Paris Saint Germain attacker will miss next year's tournament.

"It is a huge blow for the World Cup that one of these two players won't make it. It's a sad situation," Cruyff said.

"I don't really have a preference between the two of them, but if I had to make a choice I would rather see Ronaldo qualify. That's a bit of a political decision, though, as I live in Spain.

"They're different types of players. I have criticised both of them in the past because I think they should behave like role models. Kids adore them.

"But it's a shame for the footballing world that one of them won't be there if you look at how they play and at the goals Ibrahimovic has scored in recent weeks."

Nevertheless, having both players on top form with phenomenal output this season, who would you rather see in next year's World Cup?

Who do you think has the capacity to lead his side to a remarkable extent next year?

Would it be Ibrahimovic and the Sweden talents or Ronaldo and the Portugal force?
