It may be the international break at present, but this does not stop the transfer rumour mill from its continual turn, with a variety of gossip and hearsay about potential moves come the January window.

Given their failings during the summer, Manchester United are likely to be active when it comes to the New Year as David Moyes looks to reinforce his squad as they bid to defend their Premier League crown.

Arsenal, the league leaders, also appear set to be prominent players during the transfer window given their lack of options in the goalscoring department, and the acquisition of Mesut Özil in August was evidence of a new found intent from Arsene Wenger in the market.

Both Manchester United and Arsenal, naturally, feature in the weekend's paper chatter, while there is also news on potential recruits for Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool.
