Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish is sure star man Luis Suarez will not be leaving the Anfield club this summer, though admitted speculation about his future will be rife.
Speaking in his weekly Mirror column, Dalglish expressed the importance of the January transfer window to Liverpool's chances of maintaining a Premier League title challenge through until May.
The Scot believes Brendan Rodgers will need to be given funds to spend in the winter window if the Reds are to have any chance of finding success, never mind hanging on to Suarez.
Dalglish feels Liverpool will have no chance of success if the Uruguay international leaves the Merseysiders, but was confident it would not come to that.
"There will be speculation about Luis Suarez leaving the Reds. There always is. But I don’t think he’s going anywhere," he said.
"He’s thriving in this Liverpool team and everyone at Anfield knows he is crucial to maintaining a challenge."
Suarez has been in sensational form since returning from the ten-match suspension that saw him miss the first five Premier League fixture of the season, scoring eight goals in only six appearances.
There was concern over whether the 26-year-old would be able to replicate his good form from last season after a summer where he openly admitted his desire to leave Liverpool and join current table-toppers Arsenal.
Any such doubts have been well and truly put to bed, but, as Dalglish points out, speculation has continued and will likely heighten as January approaches.
