Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini was involved in a bust-up with kitman Vic Ackers for cutting the sleeves off his match shirt during the Gunners' 1-0 defeat against Manchester United.
Robin van Persie consigned Arsenal to their first league defeat since the opening day of the season just before the international break.
According to the Daily Star that wasn't the only cause of unrest in the Arsenal dressing room afterwards.
However Flamini is said to have used scissors to cut the sleeves off his shirt, which Arsenal's backroom staff only noticed in the second half at Old Trafford, prompting Ackers, 67, to confront him afterwards.
An 'Arsenal source' told the paper: “Vic and Mathieu had heated words at the end of the game.
“It is a tradition that all players wear the same shirt. Why he can’t simply roll his sleeves up rather than cut them off is beyond most of us.
“But only Bacary Sagna gave Vic any support over the issue.
“It didn’t help that the shirts were ones with a poppy on, that are sometimes auctioned off to raise money for charity.”
Flamini rejoined the Gunners over the summer on a free transfer after departing for AC Milan in 2008.
Arsenal currently sit atop the Premier League despite the defeat against Manchester United, five points clear of nearest rivals Liverpool.
