Gareth Bale suffered from a sketchy start to his Real Madrid career as he had no pre-season and struggled with a thigh injury that prevented him from starting regularly, and when he did play he was not able to hit the heights expected of him.
This led to much rash criticism from the Spanish press, showing just how much pressure is on the man from Cardiff.
However, he has now overcome this problem and his performances have immediately gone some way to showing why Real Madrid broke the world record to obtain his signature, having scored four and assisted five in just 10 games.
Particularly intriguing has been his partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo; Bale has made public his thoughts of the Portuguese superstar, labeling him as the best player in the world, and it's clear to see that even though Bale is the most expensive player in history, he acknowledges that Ronaldo is the main man at Madrid. Bale and Ronaldo are arguably the most feared duo in world football now, probably more than Messi and Neymar.
Bale will look to bring trophies to Madrid, and if he performs like he did in the Premier League last season, then there's no reason why he can't become one of the best players in world football, he is still only 24 with a good few years left in him to improve even further.
The future is bright for Gareth Bale.
