What a few days in cricket. Sachin Tendulkar, the most revered player to ever pick up a bat, lowered the curtain on his illustrious career with India on Saturday, while England and Australia lock horns once again this week.

Tendulkar, although unable to bow out with a century, departed with a victory, and cricket will undoubtedly never be the same following the retirement of the Indian maestro.

His exit from the Test arena and the imminent Ashes series provide reasons to reflect on everything that is great about cricket, from wonderful innings to devastating spells of bowling or magnificent catches.
