Manchester United to battle Chelsea & Liverpool for starlet

Manchester United are hoping to sign Nigerian starlet Musa Mohammed, reports The Daily Star

Mohammed, who captained the Nigerian U17 side to World Cup success last week, is also wanted by Premier League duo Liverpool and Chelsea, as well as Spanish giants Barcelona.

The youngster gained rave reviews as he starred in the competition and now has attracted interest from some of Europe's elite clubs.

However, with Red Devils boss David Moyes now desperate to land the 17-year-old, Mohammed could be set for a move to Old Trafford.

It has previously been reported that the Manchester United boss is ready to make many changes at the Theatre of Dreams and he now looks set to step up his pursuit of the  FC Heart Academy star.

This will come as bad news to Liverpool and Chelsea though as both clubs had been expected to make a move for the youngster in January.

Liverpool had made key defender signings this past summer, however Brendan Rodgers seems keen on continuing his long-term plan at Anfield.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool will also be aware of the interest from Barcelona as they battle it out for the youngster.
