Inter Milan owner Erik Thohir has revealed his interest in Lionel Messi - a reported Chelsea target.
The Indonesian businessman, who is also set to become the Italian outfit’s president, admits that he would ‘like very much’ for the Argentine playmaker to join his revolution at the San Siro.
He isn’t the only man interested in luring Messi away from Catalonia however, with both the Blues and Bayern Munich linked with a staggering €250million offer for the player last month.
Whilst Inter wouldn’t have the financial back of Adidas (they are sponsored by Nike), it’s clear that Thohir is looking to make a huge impact on his new club.
“I'd like that very much for Messi to Inter Milan, but we are creating a system,” he told Le 10 Sport.
"Leaders and coaches will create a plan for our company. In 2016, the final of the Champions League will be held in Milan and we must do everything for the Inter wins it."
Few clubs in the world could afford such a staggering price-tag, and even the mooted €250million figure might not be enough for Barcelona to part with their star man.
Bit, if it is, then it's no surprise to see Premier League giants Chelsea linked with a move.
The Blues have been bankrolled by owner Roman Abramovich since his arrival at Stamford Bridge a decade ago, with the Russian investing hundreds of millions into the west London club.
He currently has Jose Mourinho back at the Chelsea helm, and 'the special one' would certainly love to have Messi at his disposal on the King's Road.
