Fact or Fiction: Football's greatest stories examined (1)

Published 2 Comments

It's impossible to write this opening line without sounding like a cantankerous old goat, but here goes. The internet is ruining football.

Gone are the days of old classics like "thinking about what you want to say" and "making a considered argument". Now in their place is a spew of word-vomit, a deluge designed to fill an infinite space*.

Here to strike back for proper reflection and research against the knee-jerk fast-food nature of the internet and social media in particular, we thought it would be a good idea to examine some of these Twitter accounts that post those dubious-looking football facts and find out if they're true.

Click through and join us on a journey as we separate fact from fiction....

*Please don't include this article in the word-vomit. Internet diarrhoea yes, but never word vomit.
