Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to make a move for Saido Berahino after his contract negotiations with West Brom have stalled, reports The Mirror

Berahino, who has starred for the England U21 side this season, is currently on just £850-a-week at the Baggies.

And now it has been reported that West Brom have offered the starlet £7,000-a-week to commit his long-term future at the club, however Berahino has rejected the offer and the Baggies are yet to come back with a new offer.

Arsenal and Chelsea may now step up their pursuit of the English youngster as both clubs look to bring in England's finest talent.

Arsenal have a number of young English stars at the club, with the likes of Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all starring for Arsene Wenger's side.

However the Gunners may have to go head-to-head with Premier League rivals Chelsea as they are also keen on taking the youngster to Stamford Bridge.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea look set to continue to monitor Berahino's situation at West Brom ahead of the January transfer window.
