Midfielder Ogenyi Onazi of Lazio has stated that he would jump at the opportunity to play in an illustrious competition such as the Premier League, following reported interest from Liverpool.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is said to have shown an interest in the Nigerian international midfielder, with Reds scouts present watching the player in a recent international fixture against Italy.
Reports suggest that Everton, Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin all failed in a bidding war to secure the services of the Nigerian over the summer.
Since then the 20-year-old has gone on to impress in Serie A this season, and has now attracted interest from Fiorentina with the Italian club's sporting director Daniele Prade already working to secure a first option on Onazi should Lazio want to sell.
The Rome club are thought to want at least £6million for the talented youngster, and it seems that should a move become a possibility, Onazi would prefer a move to Liverpool in any case.
"I would jump at the chance to play in the Premier League" Onazi is quoted by the London Metro.
