AS Roma have entered the race to sign former Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou, who has previously been linked with a move north-London club Arsenal.
The Ivorian is currently plying his trade in Ligue 1 with French side Lille, but is said to have a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for a more-than affordable fee of £2.5m, according to talkSPORT.
The 28-year-old enjoyed six seasons in west London before moving across the English Channel after being released in May 2012.
He failed to hold down a regular starting berth under several different Chelsea managers, and had been subject to interest from Arsene Wenger before deciding to join the French side.
Now, with renewed interest from the Emirates to land his services to back-up Olivier Giroud, Roma have entered the fray - with Lille's former manager Rudi Garcia now in charge at the Stadio Olimpico.
The Champions League winner had been rumoured to be on the radar of Steve Clarke at West Brom this summer after netting 19 goals in 50 games for the French side. Now, he looks set for a move away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, with Roma and Arsenal vying for his signature.
