Spanish giants Barcelona have confirmed they are confident of announcing their new long-term goalkeeper, who will replace Victor Valdes, according to Goal.com.
According to Blaugrana's vice-president Josep Bartomeu, Barcelona are in advanced negotiations with certain players, with Liverpool's Pepe Reina and Borussia Mönchengladbach's Marc Andre ter Stegen in their shortlist.
The La Liga leaders current goalkeeper Valdes is destined to leave the Nou Camp in the end of the season after announcing on numerous occasions that he won't sign a new contract.
"We have been looking for a new goalkeeper since January and are in advanced negotiations to sign someone," Bartomeu told RAC1.
"The plan is to announce who will be our new goalkeeper in January, when Valdes makes his imminent exit official. Ter Stegen and Reina are among the few candidates still on our list.
"We intend to sign just one goalkeeper and not two."
Reina, 31, has a contract with Liverpool until 2016, but his future is all but certain after the arrival of Simon Mignolet in the summer.
Ter Stegen, 21, has one year left on his current deal with the German outfit and has rejected a new and improved contract from his club, leaving the door open for Barcelona.
