L.A Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni has quickly moved to dismiss the notion that superstar Kobe Bryant will be available to play in their next few matches.
Lakers fans have been boosted in recent days as news has broken that Bryant is on the mend following the Achilles tendon injury that has ruled him out for seven months.
However D'Antoni, who is ever the voice of reason, has quickly put paid to any dreams that he might make a shock return for the Los Angeles giants in the coming days, insisting that it will be a few games yet before he is completely ready to partake in the action.
Bryant has declared himself fit and ready, and has been medically given the go ahead to resume normal duties on the court.
But it appears that his coach is not willing to risk any chance of a further blow that would see Bryant miss out even more time.
D'Antoni said: "I want to be a little careful because we're going to have a few games before he comes back."
