Rio tweets Draxler recommendation

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has tweeted a recommendation of Arsenal target Julian Draxler, after England's 1-0 international friendly defeat against Germany at Wembley.

The Schalke midfielder has been the subject of intense transfer speculation in recent weeks, with suggesting that the Premier League champions are hoping to secure the 20-year-old's signature at the end of the season.

Red Devils boss David Moyes is understood to have had Old Trafford scouts watch Draxler on five occasions already this season, and is hoping to do a deal of around £30million in the summer.

If those reports are true, it will surely delight Manchester United star Ferdinand, who spoke glowingly about the young Germany international on Tuesday evening.

"The kid Draxler has got some ... liked what I've seen of him up to now," tweeted the centre-back, after his substitute appearance against the Three Lions.

Arsene Wenger is also believed to be an admirer of the Bundesliga starlet, having made an informal enquiry for the player during the summer, only for Arsenal to be quoted an extravagant £40million valuation to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

Draxler has a €45.5million (£38.5m) release clause written into his current contract at the Veltins Arena, which could be activated by any club either in January or at the end of the season.
