This weekend’s results have surely only proven that Chelsea are favourite for the Premier League title.
Jose Mourinho’s men look revitalised since he returned to Stamford Bridge - and the Blues are now a side that teams fear facing.
They have class all around the park, with two effective players for every position. Many have said that it is up front where they will struggle, but Fernando Torres seems to be finding his form, and goals will always come from the likes of Oscar, Eden Hazard and Frank Lampard.
Their defence looks steady with John Terry back in the heart of it, and the players around him will learn a lot playing alongside.
They have made some new editions that have impacted on the squad, with Andre Schurrle and Samuel Eto’o adding to the strength of the squad - and giving Mourinho real selection headaches.
They do have the best, deepest squad in the league - but that is due to their bank balance more than anything.
In comparison Manchester City, who have a huge bank balance themselves, have made some huge investments on some unproven Premier league talent that hasn’t come off just yet, with them sitting in 7th position.
Arsenal’s signing of Mesut Ozil has energised the Gunners but it will take a heroic effort to keep their good start up. Ozil staying fit will be a big factor. Their next four fixtures will show us what they are made of.
Liverpool have added to their squad and are playing some breathtaking football but do not have the strength in depth of Chelsea.
If Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard stay fit then they do have a real chance to challenge, but are susceptible of drawing games they really should be winning.
They are very hot and cold, as shown with the recent disappointing draw at Newcastle followed up by a masterclass in finishing and passing against West Brom at Anfield.
Manchster United are obviously struggling in 8th but have the class in their squad to win a lot of games this season. They managed to dig out a result against Stoke when they weren’t playing well, something they did a lot last season in taking the title.
All in all, though, it is Chelsea who have the most balanced squad and arguably the greatest manager in the Premier League at the moment at the helm.
The last time they won it was in the 2009/10 season under Carlo Ancelotti, but they look more than ready to repeat that feat this season.
