San Francisco 49ers star given $15,570 fine

Ahmad Brooks has been fined $15,570 by the NFL after his hit on Drew Brees in the San Francisco 49ers defeat to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, reports Yahoo SPORTS.

After Brooks took down the quarterback, the Saints hit two late field goals to take a 23-20 victory away from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

However Brooks was unhappy after conceding the penalty and now his agent, Greg williams, has revealed that the 29-year-old will appeal the fine given to him.

Despite Brees believing that the hit was a clothesline tackle, Brooks has been defended by his coach and one of his teammates.

The 49ers coach, Jim Harbaugh believes the hit was clean and Brooks' teammate, Carlos Rogers was surprised at the fine dished out to the star.

The 49ers will now be desperate to get back to winning ways as they take on the Washington Redskins at the FedEx Field next week.
