Everton are preparing to make a January bid for Spartak Moscow winger Aiden McGeady, according to the Daily Mirror.
McGeady is out of contract in the summer and has turned down a new deal as he wants to return to Britain, with Spartak now willing to sell him in the new year to avoid losing him on a free next summer.
The 27-year-old was signed by the Russian club for £9.5m from Celtic three years ago, with the side from Moscow keen to try and recoup £6m of that fee - but Everton believe they will be able to negotiate a cheaper price.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez is looking to add to his squad that currently sits sixth in the table and believes McGeady will add a fresh spark on Merseyside.
McGeady has Champions League experience with Spartak Moscow and also has 63 caps for Republic of Ireland, whom he played at Euro 2012 for, and Everton will be confident of securing a cut price deal for him.
