It seems almost inevitable that Brazil will go all the way in their homeland next summer, but they will face many challenges along the way.
Spain and Germany look the two most likely teams to prevent the Brazilians from lifting a record sixth World Cup title in the Maracana come July 2014.
However, the biggest football tournament in the world often brings along a few surprises.
Take, for example, Ghana’s performance in South Africa last time around. The Black Stars made it through the quarter finals in 2010 before losing a penalty shoot-out after being denied a last minute winner by the hand of Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Back in 2006 - like Ghana - Ukraine exceeded all expectation by making it through the last eight before being knocked out by eventual tournament winners Italy.
So who could be this year’s surprise package? Who is going to defy the odds in Brazil and go a step or two further than expected?
Here we take a look at six teams who could be this year’s Ghana or Ukraine and shock some of the big boys during the world’s biggest footballing tournament.
