With the amount of money that circulates in football in the modern era, it's easy to see how some clubs end up with players who aren't good enough to play for them, purely because they have the cash to throw without worrying about quality first.

Sometimes it's a slow deterioration of ability after arrival and with others it's an instant reality check that screams that they are simply not cut out for the top level.

Regardless of how the realisation comes about however, few can deny that are a number of stars currently warming the bench or plying their trade with the reserve squads of respective footballing giants who should, and probably will, end up being offloaded to teams well below their current ones.
