Harlequins full-back Mike Brown was today named England's QBE Man of the Series, following a string of standout performances in the 2013 QBE Internationals.

The 28-year-old produced a superb Man of the Match performance to help England secure a 20-13 victory against Australia. Brown then followed that up with impressive displays in the 31-12 win against Argentina and in the loss to world champions, New Zealand.

Brown's performances should ensure he is a key part of England's preparations for the 2015 World Cup as he has staked a strong claim for the 15 shirt. The Southampton-born back has impressed to the point where he looks like he could be a permanent fixture in the England side and will be an integral part of England's development.

The Quins player is proud of the award which is voted for by thousands of fans.

Brown told reporters: “This is a special award as it is nominated by the supporters of England rugby and I am very grateful to everyone who voted. The support at Twickenham is always amazing and this award has capped a brilliant month for me and the team.

"A number of quality players could have won this award and the success we have had in this year’s QBE Internationals is firmly down to the efforts of the whole squad and I am just pleased to have played my role to help this England team to victory against Australia & Argentina, and also to push the number 1 team in the world all the way.”

The unanimous fans' choice, Brown has chosen to donate the £1,000 from QBE to his chosen charity, Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby.
