Arsenal starlet Hector Bellerin has joined Watford on a short-term loan deal.

The 18-year-old right back, who moved to north London from Barcelona in 2011, is yet to make a senior league appearance for the Gunners, although he did come off the bench in the League Cup earlier this season.

Gianfranco Zola has added the teenager to his side’s ranks until January 2nd, as the Hornets look for cover at the back as they chase promotion from the Championship.

Bellerin will also join Fitz Hall at Vicarage Road, after the 32-year-old signed a one-month deal with Watford following a spell training with the club in Hertfordshire.

It’s the progress of the young Spaniard that will interest fans at the Emirates Stadium though, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is sure to keep a close eye on his player’s progress under the guidance of Zola.

The Gunners aren’t flush with players in the position, with Bacary Sagna out of contract at the end of the season and Carl Jenkinson his only cover.

That gives Bellerin a potential opportunity in the not too distant future, and impressing in the second-tier would certainly propel the Arsenal youngster into more regular senior reckoning.
