Top 5: Goals of the decade so far (1)

Goals, goals, goals - everyone loves a spectacular finish, don't they? Whether you are a defender, midfielder or potent penalty-box poacher, nothing quite beats the feeling of seeing the ball fly into the back of the net.

Whether goals are aesthetically-pleasing or utterly scrappy, as the old saying goes - 'they all count'. However, while this is of course absolutely true, there is no denying that strikes of a more sublime nature live far longer in the memory.

Here, GMS selects five of the very best goals of the past three years. As there have been so many truly world class examples over such a time frame, to make it somewhat simpler we have limited ourselves to only including goals that have been nominated for the highly-prestigious FIFA Puskas Award since 2010.

After all, that aforementioned award was designed to reward stunning goals, but I concede that such a list will always be contentious (and we might just have cheated a lot on one entry -  but more on that later).

Click through the list to see the goals.

Do you feel that these are five of the best goals of the decade so far? Which is your favourite?

Perhaps you feel that one of these goals is not worthy of such a lofty standing? Which other goals do you feel should have been included?
