Pep Guardiola has promised to wield the axe at Bayern Munich after a member of the dressing room leaked the details of their tactical plan to the press in the lead up to their clash with Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Bayern went on to win an enthralling match 3-0 at the Westfalenstadion to increase the gap between the two side in the Bundesliga to seven points.
Mario Götze returned to his old club to strike the decisive blow with the opening goal in the 66th minute, before Arjen Robben and Thomas Müller put some extra gloss on the scoreline late on.
Guardiola was obviously pleased with the crucial victory, but was fuming at the mole in his squad who has been leaking the details of his tactics to German media and certainly did not mince his words.
"It does not matter who it is, heads will roll. I will throw him out. He will not play under me again," he is quoted as saying by The Sun.
Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was not quite so severe in his response to the leaks, but back up Guardiola's sentiment in warning the mole that consequences will be serious if the leaking continued.
“We will obviously not bring in the NSA to find out who it is," he said.
“But I advise him to stop doing it or he will have a serious problem not only with Pep Guardiola but also the entire club.”
