Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc has urged Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic to bounce back from his World Cup disappointment, by helping the Ligue 1 side beat Reims.
Ibrahimovic, who couldn't help Sweden qualify despite scoring a brace, will not feature in the World Cup following the 4-2 aggregate loss to Portugal in a thrilling playoff.
Blanc understands his talisman's disappointment, but has called upon the 32-year-old attacker to soften the blow by continuing a strong start to the season for PSG.
"It was a massive disappointment for him, but I think he's fine. He must be bitterly disappointed, but he always has the right spirit," he said at a press conference.
"He has to turn it into something positive, by reaching his goals with his club side, very ambitious goals at that. If he can do that, it will soften the blow of missing out on the World Cup in Brazil."
The former France coach also warned his team not to underestimate Reims.
"They are highly motivated when they take on the big sides and we are expecting a very tough match," the World Cup winner insisted.
"The international break means we haven't prepared in the best possible conditions."
Moreover, Blanc also stated that Edinson Cavani might be ruled out of the clash since he is not fully recovered from featuring for Uruguay in midweek.
"To start him against Reims might be a bit risky," he reasoned. "I will discuss it with him to see how he feels.
"The match against Reims is very important, but there are other matches coming up which are just as important.
"We won't take any risks for this game."
