It feels like Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon has been playing forever; turning out for the Bianconeri since 2001, he has been one of Europe's most consistent and outstanding goalkeepers and has a record 138 caps for Italy.

At 35 years old there is speculation that Buffon may be coming to the end of his career. It was always going to happen. 35 isn't that old for a goalkeeper and I'd suspect he has at least another year in him.

However plans must be made for the Turin-based side and they reportedly have their eye on Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul.

Krul moved to Newcastle in 2006 for as little as £200,000 when he was 18 and with loan moves to Falkirk and Carlisle City, finally broke into the Newcastle team in 2009.

Now he could be on the verge of a move to the current Serie A champions, that could see Newcastle make 100x what they payed for him. The Magpies want around £20million for the Dutch international as they know that the Italian club have the funds in the bank.

However Juventus will face fare competition from Arsenal and Athletico Madrid. It's a luxury decision for Krul, who will be offered Champions League football at any of the three sides above.

Further, a move to a top club in January could push his chances in playing in the World Cup in 2014. Krul has just five caps for the Netherlands.
