The football world is currently awash with some extremely gifted midfielders who can perform a variety of roles in the middle of the park.

There's no denying their ability, and moreover, their age never plays any part in their performances. They can score goals, provide assists and can also pass the ball with dexterity anywhere in the park.

Chosen below are midfielders below the age of 22 (excluding Neymar), you can comment below for the one you find the best out of the others!

Isco - Real Madrid

The 21-year-old  joined Spanish giants Real Madrid in the previous summer transfer window in a move worth €30million from Malaga. People actually say that he is more closer to the forwards than the midfielders during build up plays in the midfield.

Isco impressed in both La Liga and the Champions League with some spectacular goals for Malaga. Isco then confirmed his prodigious talents for all to see in the recent UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

In Israel, Isco was the third-highest scorer in the competition and was also chosen to the Team of the Tournament, as his scintillating attacking performances went a long way towards helping his country retain their title. He has also scored five goals for Madrid since joining them in a total of 12 appearances.

Mario Gotze - Bayern Munich

He became Germany's most expensive transfer ever following a move from Dortmund to Bayern Munich in April. He is believed to reach great heights in his career or in the next decade or so. He's set to dominate the European and the World stage for Bayern and country Germany.

Moreover, in addition to his favoured No.10 role he can also operate as a left winger or a right winger as well. Although he got a limited amount of starts for Bayern but he still has scored twice during his stay.

Götze is considered to be an up-and-coming player, possessing high speed, excellent technical and dribbling skill, and play-making capabilities. Former German Football Association's technical director Matthias Sammer describes Götze as "one of the best talents that [Germany's] ever had".

Christian Eriksen Tottenham Hotspur

The 21-year-old Dane has been previously named as the Danish Football Player of the Year, Dutch Football Talent of the Year, Ajax Talent of the Year during his stay at Ajax. He moved from Ajax to Tottenham Hotspur in the previous summer transfer window (for £11 million) and has not disappointed the fans since then.

The role of a No.10 midfielder suits him perfectly and he can also play as a winger on both the sides. He had managed to put 113 goals past the keeper during his Ajax days and also has 44 assists to his newly-renowned name. He is a kind of player who can pass the ball extremely well to the people around him (especially the strikers) and his link up play with other fellow midfielders is also exceptional.

Julian Draxler FC Schalke

The 20-year-old German has attracted an enormous amount of interest from big clubs like Arsenal, Real Madrid and Manchester United. So far,he has refused to rule out a move to either United or Arsenal, who have been following the youngster closely. He is considered to be one of the most coveted midfielders in the football world and there's no doubting his abilities when he actually plays.

Draxler's passing abilities have cut open even the best defences in the Bundesliga and he can also make surging runs into the box which can help his team score very often. But, to gain more recognition he must leave Schalke and join one of the big clubs who are pursuing their interests in him.

Eden Hazard - Chelsea

The little Belgian does look small when he stands beside compatriots Marouane Fellaini, Romelu Lukaku, Christian Benteke and Mousa Dembele, but he is a much better talent than all of them. He can score from nearly anywhere on the pitch and his speed and accuracy can chuff you to bits.

He made a big money move from Lille to Chelsea a season ago and the fee was reported to be £32million. Unlike Eriksen, this guy possesses a huge amount of strength and an extraordinary ability to score and go past defenders easily.

The winger role suits him more because of the above described abilities and he has scored 15 goals for Chelsea in 40 appearances (mainly as a winger).

Chelsea legend Frankie Lampard has been quoted saying: "I've said to him he has got absolutely everything. He's only 22, he has the world at his feet and with the way he’s playing and the ability he has on the ball, he is scaring the life out of people."
