Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs holds Adnan Januzaj in very high regard indeed, and claims the young midfielder reminds him of himself when he first broke into the club's first-team over 20 years ago.
Januzaj has established himself as one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League after a number of impressive displays this season, and propelled himself into the limelight with a match-winning brace against Sunderland in October.
The 18-year-old's rapid rise to prominence encouraged the club to award him a lucrative new long-term deal amid reports of interest from elsewhere, and Januzaj's emergence has been a real positive to take in an otherwise inconsistent start for David Moyes.
Giggs has certainly been buoyed by what he has seen from the latest star to hop off the Old Trafford production line, and says Januzaj is providing as much excitement for the Manchester United players as he is the club's loyal supporters.
"He takes the ball and has good balance and is exciting -- like when I first got in the team. He’s an exciting player for the fans and for the other [first-team] players and academy players," Giggs told talkSPORT.
"They can look up and see it’s possible to make it in the first team if you work hard and in the right way.
"I think he’s got about seven or eight countries that he can choose from. I tried to nick him for Wales but he's not interested!"
