Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has demanded Arsene Wenger buys him dinner, to say thank you for sanctioning the club-record transfer of Mesut Ozil, reports the Daily Star.
The German playmaker completed a £42.5million move to north London on summer deadline day, and has been a revelation, helping Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table.
Ancelotti reckons the Gunners boss owes him one for allowing Ozil to swap the Santiago Bernabeu for the Emirates Stadium, particularly if the 25-year-old helps end Wenger's eight-year drought without a trophy.
"Arsenal are doing well, but we helped them of course," explained the Italian in a recent interview with The Times.
"Arsene Wenger has to buy us dinner as we gave them [Mesut] Ozil! It was my decision."
Arsenal extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points following a 2-0 home victory over Southampton on Saturday.
Second-placed Liverpool were held to a 3-3 draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby, while reigning champions Manchester United - who are way down in sixth - conceded a late goal to draw 2-2 with newly-promoted Cardiff City.
